Please follow these general safety guidelines when handling or using any of our products, especially our essential oils. This list is not exhaustive. Always read the product label.
Storage and handling
- Keep out of reach of children and pets. Keep products away from unattended children, pets and vulnerable people. Always make sure the built-in dropper is in place, as it helps prevent accidental over-consumption. Take particular care when using or diffusing oils around pets, especially cats.
- Keep away from heat and surfaces. Keep products away from naked flames and other sources of ignition, and away from fabrics, plastics and polished surfaces.
- Do not take essential oils internally.
Eyes and skin
- Avoid contact with eyes. If any product gets into the eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water for several minutes. If irritation continues, seek medical advice immediately.
- Skin sensitivity. Some oils may cause skin sensitivity or a reaction in some people. Stop using the product immediately if this happens. If you are prone to reactions, do a patch test on a small area first.
- Sunlight. Take care with certain oils, especially citrus oils, before exposure to direct sunlight.
- Bath use. Always dilute essential oils in a small amount of full-fat milk or carrier oil before adding them to bath water.
Health considerations
- Seek medical advice first if you are pregnant, have epilepsy, high or low blood pressure, or any other medical condition.
- Avoid constant use. Using any essential oil constantly over a long period may, in rare cases, cause sensitisation, nausea or headaches.
- Driving and machinery. Do not drive or operate machinery immediately after an aromatherapy treatment.
If you are unsure, don't use it.
