Are your essential or fragrant oils suitable for soapmaking or cosmetic use? |
|

|
All the essential oils we stock are suitable.
With regard to fragrances this is a little more complex.
The reason we have 2 types of fragrance is purely because you cannot actually have a single fragrance that is suitable for use for everything. Wouldnt life be simple if it was?
We stock some "standard" fragrances - These are for use in any aqueous product. So, Melt N pour soap, Aqueous base products like bath foams, shampoos, creams etc
Candle Grade Fragrances - for use in products with oil present. ie veg oil, candles, emulsion, oil based butters, creams, cold process soap etc.
Note: You can still use the candle grade fragrance in Melt N Pour soap if you wish or base products like shampoos, but there is often a clarity issue and therefore the need to use a solubliser aswell.
Bath bombs - you can use either because there are no clarity or solubility issues with these.
So if you look at the fragrances we have on offer and simply avoid those listed in the "candle grade category if clarity is an issue for water based products.
Please Note: There are also guidlines regarding safe inclusion limits which need to be taken into account also. This is to complex and varied to cover at this point.
